According to the record from URA Singapore, more foreign buyers purchase properties in Singapore. It might be many various reasons for these. Obviously for few reasons & stories that shared among Singapore real estate professionals are political reasons, social unrest & pandemic.
Singapore might not be the first choice for foreigners to live in but for many of foreigners’ evaluations, it became 1st choice, Why? Following are valid reasons.
Factors Which Foreigners Consider Before making decision in Investments in Singapore Properties
Political Stability
Singapore is known as one that having best political stability in Asia, beside those countries that are ruling dictator governments. Stabilities are best indication that allow country moving forwards to the same or similar direction for a long period of time. Like it or not, at least for foreigners to see &able them to make good evaluation on their decision. Be it for business, investments or for family living or just to keep their assets in a safe place.
Safety Issue
Many used to made their first choices home & investment in America & Europe countries. However, after recent years of riots & unwelcome of the citizen in those countries & the way those governments handled these problems scared them off. Singapore might not have that attractive lifestyles & features but it is safe & government took racism seriously.
Pandemic Mangements
Undeniably, Singapore also been effected by pandemic too. However, by the way of government approach & solve problems that keep popping up, built confident in many citizen & foreigners. As we had seen many foreigner purchased residential properties during these time.
Singapore Infrastructures improvements Plans & Executions
Singapore had a very clear road map on planning improving country. It was assigned & managing by URA Singapore. In my opinion in practising Architecture design here, I had absolute trust in their professionalism & integrities. I had seen the movement more that 20 years since I migrated here. I believed this is the way, government should manage their city planning & infrastructure improvement.
Economy Outlook & Monetary Strength
Definitely, you have to look at the condition of basket before you put eggs that you have in it. Investors are looking at the Future Economy Outlook, direction of the government policies in handling them. The Monetary strange that country has, to make sure that government has enough resources to solve them. Last but not least, history of the management & execution of their policy.
Communication Languages
One of the obstacle in understanding thing is language, specially those who have non-english speaking persons. Like many Hong Kong citizen, many Chinese & English speaking individual chooses Singapore to be their new home & invested in Singapore.
